DOES THE BIBLE SPEAK AGAINST PREMARITAL SEX?

The
greatest challenge humanity continues to contend with is the refusal of
a person, institutions, or country to obey laws and learn from past
mistakes. Ever since the fall of Adam and Eve, man continues to do the
very things, God commands him not to do. God has certain laws in place
to save man from so many heartaches, but man’s decision is to follow
the destructive path of disobedience. Humanity in a bid to disobey God
questions His principles and laws but suffers from the consequences of
such actions. God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat the forbidden
fruit, they disobeyed Him, and man continues to suffer from that
mistake.
In the light of this disobedience, humanity continues to engage in
premarital sex even though God does not approve. So many still turn
deaf ears to the importance of waiting for sex until marriage despite
the fact that countless number of people suffer daily from premarital
sex. The number of people infected with Sexually Transmitted Disease,
and HIV is on an alarming increase. People who promote premarital sex
should understand that God’s warning is clear on the subject of sex
before and outside marriage. Look at what God’s word says in
1Corinthians 6:18-20
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside
his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you
not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you,
whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought
at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.
There is no better scripture to interpret God’s mind on the
subject of premarital sex. The body of a single belongs to God and he
or she must treat it with respect. God commands single people to guard
their body against emotional, spiritual, societal, physical and health
maladies. It is in the best interest of man to obey this law. One of
the repercussions of premarital sex is infertility and sexually
transmitted diseases such as herpes, which have no cure. God’s laws are
designed to protect us from harm and that is why we must do everything
possible with the help of the Holy Spirit to obey Him. Make the choice
to wait for sex until marriage and you will not regret it.
If you already are involved in premarital sex, it is never too late to
make a turn around. God can heal your body and restore your broken
heart. Say no to premarital sex because sex is not a proof of love, but
an expression of marital love. Whoever loves you respect your decision
to wait for sex until marriage. God will help you.
