The World Health Organization has made the first day of December a day to care for those with HIV/AIDS at the same time, sensitize the public about ways of protection against the killer disease. One way this approach is by the sharing condoms. For many years, we continue to share condoms and tell kids that they can have sex with whoever they want so long as they use a condom.
I really do not know how much condoms have helped curb the spread of HIV/AIDS but one thing I do know is that, condoms cannot prevent them from the emotional and spiritual scars that premarital sex brings. Have we actually thought of the harm premarital sex has done to the intellectual part of the child? Obviously, premarital sex is a distraction to a child’s education but what do we care? How many of those pushing for the use of condoms to prevent premarital sex will actually give their son a part in the back if they saw him with packets of condoms.
What bothers me most is that people who cannot take responsibility for their hormones while not married will continue to be unfaithful to their spouse when he or she is gone away for a day or two. Look at what is happening in America and most of Europe today; people fall in and out of love with different number of people all because they have had sex with too many people to even recognize their soul mate anymore. Think about this, what would be your feeling or reaction if your husband or wife told you that he or she had sex with 50 different people before getting married to you? Would you be proud to tell your spouse that you have lost count of people that you have been sexually involved in the past with before you met him or her?
Christmas is by the corner and am sure that many guys have decided on the number of girls they will have sex with on Christmas day all in the name of fun. Please, reverse that decision now. If you engage in premarital sex, you are unfair to yourself, to your victims and your future spouse. So make the wise choice of abstinence today
