Teens and single people need to understand that a great percentage of people that profess love to them, are only interested in having sex with them. What next will you have to do to further prove your love for him after you have offered him your most precious asset-virginity, as your proof of love?
If someone ask you to prove your love for them by having sex against your will, tell them to prove their love for you by saving sex for marriage. If someone says they will end their relationship with you if you do not have with him or her, walk away from them because they are selfish and do not have your best interest at heart. If sex was proof of love, then prostitutes have been in love with a million and one men.
Sex is not a proof of love. It is an expression of love between two people who have a life long commitment to one another. Sex does not prove that you love a person because it is so inadequate in ensuring a lasting relationship. True proof of love is measured in the commitment of two people to build mutual trust, honesty, care, support, and respect for each other. If all these attributes are missing in a relationship or marriage, sex can never make up for it.
Any relationship that is built on flesh and selfishness will eventually end in heartbreak. Teens and single adults have experienced countless number of heartbreaks all in the name of proving their love for men they discovered never care for or loved them. Single people must understand that men are created to conquer and move to another ground. So, there are many men who have vowed to sexually conquer as many ladies as they can before they eventually get married. Even after marriage, there is always a slim chance that they will be faithful to their spouse. The virtues of true love is explained in 1Corinthians 13:4-8a
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong doing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things…1Corinthians 13:4-8a (ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION)-
No doubt, the word will be a better place if people were not so self-seeking and selfish. One of the virtues of true love is patience or perseverance, a value most young people lack today. Teens and single people want what they want, and now! If your relationship does not possess these values, then you are on the wrong path. Remember, sex is not a proof of love. It is only an expression of love two people committed in a life long marriage.
